This film is a story of courage, perseverance, and faith. It tells the tale of the legendary expedition led by Colonel Nikolai Voloshinov, which was sent to Siberia to assess the feasibility of constructing the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM). In his report, Voloshinov declared that building a railway in such harsh conditions was impossible. However, humanity proved him wrong: breakthroughs in science and technology made it possible to achieve the seemingly unachievable — cutting through mountains, draining swamps, and laying a path across the vast expanses of Siberia.
The film is dedicated to all the builders of BAM, whose hard work and dedication became a symbol of an era and an example of how humans can conquer nature without yielding to challenges.
